Signed Ed Sheeran CD up for auction in time for Christmas

This holiday season, a fantastic opportunity awaits Ed Sheeran fans

A chance to own a framed and signed copy of his latest album, Autumn Variations. But it’s not just about adding a rare piece of memorabilia to your collection; this auction is all about giving back. The proceeds from the winning bid, with a reserved price starting at £80, will go towards supporting children’s mental health initiatives in Suffolk, the pop star’s home county.

The online auction is currently live and will run until 12 pm on Friday, December 1. This initiative is part of Suffolk Mind’s The Big Give campaign, where donations made between November 28 and December 5, up to £7,000, will be matched. The goal is to raise a total of £14,000, specifically earmarked for mental health education in schools.

The generous donation of this signed CD comes from Barry Griffiths, the managing director of Barr Personnel, and it adds an extra layer of significance to the auction. As a silent auction, bids are made privately online, and the highest bidder at the closing time will secure this unique piece of memorabilia. The good news is, you can also view the prize in person and place a bid at the Suffolk Mind Christmas stand at John Lewis in Ipswich until December 1, from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm.

Julie Long, the fundraising manager at Suffolk Mind, expressed her excitement about the auction, stating, “We are thrilled to be able to auction this special item as part of The Big Give campaign. It will be the perfect gift this Christmas for one of Ed’s many superfans and it will help fund such an important cause. Thank you to Barry Griffiths for this wonderful donation.”

This isn’t the only philanthropic effort from Ed Sheeran in recent times. Earlier this month, he donated hundreds of items, including his own clothing, to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) for an eBay charity sale.
